What are my cabin bag options?

Everyone can bring one small cabin bag per person on board for free.It can be a maximum size of 45 x 36 x 20 cm (including any handles and wheels) and needs to be kept under the seat in front of you. That should be enough to bring all the essentials for your journey or for a short trip. Your bag can weigh up to 15kg, but we do ask that you’re able to lift and carry it yourself.

If you’d also like to bring a large cabin bag on board (max. 56 x 45 x 25 cm, including any handles and wheels), you have the option to book a large cabin bag for your flight. Every customer who books a large cabin bag can also enjoy the benefit of speedy boarding.

If you’re an easyJet Plus member or customer who has booked a FLEXI fare, you can also bring a large cabin bag on board (in addition to your small cabin bag) as part of your membership or fare benefits. See below for full details.

Please note that the maximum number of cabin bags available per person is two; one small cabin bag for all customers and one large cabin bag for customers if it’s included with their fare or membership benefits or where they have paid to add one to their booking.

Remember - purchasing all your bags online is cheaper and will help you avoid paying bag fees at the airport and your cabin bags being placed in the hold.

If you would like to fly with a large cabin bag, please select an alternative flight which still has space for your bag.

If you’re a FLEXI fare customer or easyJet Plus member, please show your boarding card at the gate. If there’s no more space in the cabin, your large cabin bag can be placed in the hold for free.

Will my bag be positioned close to me?

Your small under-seat cabin bag will need to stored under the seat in front of you, so will be easily accessible. This is why we recommend that you keep everything you will need during the flight in your small cabin bag.

Large cabin bags will need to be placed in an overhead locker. On particularly busy flights when lots of customers also have a large cabin bag, you may need to find space in the overhead lockers a little further from your seat.

If you are sat in a restricted seat, all your bags, including small cabin bags will need to be placed in the overhead locker during take off and landing.

There was spare space in the overhead lockers, but my large cabin bag was put in the hold. Why is this?

Any bags brought to the gate outside of your booked allowance will be placed in the hold at the gate and subject to a charge. We let all customers know about their cabin bag allowances during booking, in their booking confirmation and when checking in online or via our app. We encourage customers to check this before they travel to make sure they don’t bring any bags outside of their allowance to the gate and to help avoid any charges. In fairness to our customers, we will always prioritise space to those who have booked a large cabin bag in advance and we make it cheaper to do so.
